We should probably have a conversation about what to do with some of these super long ones, even aside from this suggestion. They’re huge, oddly formatted, I’m not really convinced that anyone is going through reading them, they’re a stark departure from virtually every other note in the deck, and they frequently make searching by keyword a distracting pain.
At the very least, since this particular card is about proline we might consider trimming the portions that are not relevant to proline.
Tbh as someone who is doing the cards it was nice to have extended information on these amino acids and their characteristics. The only thing is they’re super oddly formatted and had a ton of grammatical mistakes. It could definitely be condensed but most of the information is gold, I hope people would agree because I basically use my flashcards as my go to content information so its nice to have it at times
I agree that some of the info for sure has some value. And good to know that you’ve found them useful. 
Sometimes I wonder how many people read through them, and there’s not an easy way for me to know that since we have no way of tracking it, so it’s good to know that it has some non-zero value, at least.
For sure there’s no plan to just jettison all of the info; I think we can all agree that would be too extreme. It’s not as though the text has no value at all, just that it’s bloatedly large, super long, and the text isn’t specific to the card. It seems like it merits some sprucing up, at least.
At the moment the current thinking seems to be:
- The sections are awfully long. And redundant.
- Such long sections, with tons of keywords, make the search function pretty rough and it triggers lots of positives that aren’t useful which makes the search function as a whole less useful.
- Trim down the section/s so that it includes the information relevant for the amino acid/s in that particular card, rather than each card having all of the sections.
Yep all definitely a problem. Definitely needs a trim to just hit the niche, “really good to know”, information so that on the off chance someone is reading it or searches something related, they find something useful more easily without having to sift through so much
