Was it tested in a AMBOSS or UWorld Q?
Would recommend just adding “surgical” to the text.
UAE is listed under Amboss as non-surgical. Amboss also lists radiofrequency ablation as another non-surgical option. Would recommend adding these to the extra field if we wanted to, but nid:1639070957185,1639071102426 also cover this topic pretty well already.
Just following up on this. UAE is the name of the procedure but not actually the artery embolized. IR will actually refer to this procedure as UFE (uterine fibroid embolization). Approximately 90-95% of fertility is preserved and therefore it is not only an acceptable but a Common route used for those desiring preserved fertility.
I find it weird that both of those are listed as non-surgical. Because both are done under anesthesia in the OR.
