Do you have an MCAT specific source citation to back this suggestion (UWorld, Kaplan, etc.)?

This is standard pharmacology; but, per Kaplan PS book, page 232, “Cocaine also decreases
reuptake of dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin, although by a different mechanism.”

The primary mechanism of cocaine is causing NT to stay in the synapse longer. Secondary mechanisms can enhance release, but this is well beyond MCAT

We do our best to ensure that all the info contained is tailored to the MCAT. A fair amount of ‘standard’ knowledge does not, necessarily, apply to what the AAMC tests and so MCAT-specific source citation and rationales are required for most all content-level changes.
