think its okay for it to be highlighted to G guanosine analogs
If “E” is not an option, “G” is a viable answer, however AMBOSS clearly states that it inhibits synthesis of guanine nucleotides, which is a more specific choice.
Very confusing - Ribavirin is a guanosine analog, but the MOA is inhibition of nucleotide synthesis. AMBOSS mentions both of these, FA23 highlights nucleotide synthesis inhibition. @Ahmed7 @Wildspin9 @CTE_BrainDamage @shmuelsash @Stillmatic (also, we should resolve ASAP - I just rejected two identical suggestions on this topic)
Ya i think G and E are both correct, but would lean more towards E because it’s mechanism is to inhibit IMP dehydrogenase (which converts IMP into XMP which is eventually converted into GMP and GTP).
Yeah, I too lean more towards E,
Yup, original image this was asking us to label (found in additional resources) just generalized the answer to being involved in nucleic acid synthesis (C on that image). FA pg 197 specifically labels as inhibiting guanine nucleotide synthesis so should be E
