Anki says there are no new updates when we try to sync the new cards we added

We added a few cards after creating a deck with ankihub. Every time we hit sync with ankihub it says “no new updates” and the other person does not get those cards that we added after subscribing.
How do we fix this?

Did you press suggest new card and accept that card on AnkiHub first?

I can only see the crown to add a suggestion when a card is already there and not when I am making the new card.
Do I have to make the cards and then do this after the fact?

If you create a deck on ankihub, and want to add new cards, you will have to suggest those new cards to ankihub. You also have to make sure to use the note type with the brackets around it for AnkiHub to recognize it
