Cannot find deck when trying to upload to AnkiHub

Hello,

I am trying to upload a deck of my own to ankihub for the first time (for the students I am TAing in orgo this summer). I have downloaded ankihub, I am a core subscriber, I have synced my deck with anki, and I have synced ankihub on my end. However, when I go to “create AnkiHub deck", my deck does not show up as an option to upload! Please let me know how I can upload it. Thanks!

A few things can cause this, but it’s usually one of these:

1. Make sure the deck is a top‑level deck

The “Create AnkiHub deck” window only lists top‑level decks.

• In Anki’s main deck list, check whether Organic Chemistry 1 is indented under another deck (e.g. School::Organic Chemistry 1).
• If it is, right‑click the deck → Rename → change it so it has no :: in the name (e.g. just Organic Chemistry 1).
• Then restart Anki and try AnkiHub → Create AnkiHub deck again.

2. Ensure the deck is not already linked to AnkiHub

If a deck is already an AnkiHub deck, it won’t appear in the “Create AnkiHub deck” list.

• Right‑click the deck → see if there’s an AnkiHub submenu (e.g. “Open AnkiHub page”, “Unlink from AnkiHub”).
• Or open AnkiHub → Manage AnkiHub decks and check if your deck name shows up there.
• If it’s already listed, you don’t need to create it again; you can just share that AnkiHub deck with your students.

3. Confirm you’re in the correct profile and AnkiHub is logged in

• Make sure you’re using the profile where Organic Chemistry 1 exists.
• In Anki: AnkiHub → Settings and confirm you’re logged into the same AnkiHub account as your Core subscription.
• Then run AnkiHub → Sync once, and after it completes, try Create AnkiHub deck again.

4. Check note types & cards actually exist

Rare but possible: a completely empty deck or one with only unsupported cards might not show.

• Click the deck → check there are cards in the Browser.
• If it’s empty, add a few cards and try again.

If you try the steps above and the list is still blank:

1. Go to AnkiHub → Open Logs Folder and note the latest log file name.
2. Take a screenshot of:
   • Your Anki main deck list (showing Organic Chemistry 1)
   • The “Create AnkiHub deck” window (like the one you attached)
3. Reply here with:
   • Your Anki version (Help → About)
   • Your AnkiHub add‑on version (AnkiHub → About AnkiHub)
   • Whether Organic Chemistry 1 is a subdeck of anything.

I can then help narrow down if this is a bug with the add‑on or something specific to your setup.
