@anking-maintainers - this is true, IV steroids are only indicated when compression is due to malignancy

I believe the original answer is still correct. The attached amboss article has a small popup that implies that you give steroids empirically because it takes a while to rule out malignancy. Steroids have so few downsides in the short term. I can’t imagine a clinician witholding steroids no matter how low the index of suspicion; the cost of not addressing a malignancy is too debilitating. Plus the attached flowsheet says you start with steroids before surgery.
We could keep the card as is and just have smt in the extra like “steroids cover for compressive malignancy”
