@pkaps01 as a general rule I like to avoid X/Y phrasings, as I think they’re unintuitive and unexpected behind a cloze. But, for sure, when there are discrepancies (or similarities) in terms it’s helpful to note. For stuff like the options are twofold:
- Extra field: “XYZ is also known as ABC” or,
- Text field: “…states that XXX, also known as YYY, for a stimulus” so that at least the duality of the terminology is appropriately cued for the reader
Neither here always the solution 100% of the time; it depends on the card, text length, potential for confusion, priority of distinguishing, etc.
When possible, we’d prefer the cards to use the more common term in the Text field, though that’s not always possible to determine.
Good to know. I think inclusion in the extra field is probably good enough here.
