@Ahmed7 I see what the author is saying too; the degree sign is also seen in c1 and, looking at it, the Latex input for it seems to be the same as where /degree (in bright red) is seen
tbh i have zero experience with mathjax (i think this is what its called?) not sure how to fix that, do you know how to?
I tried troubleshooting the input but that bright red slash still shows. An alternative I found is using the symbols we have; it wonāt look as refined as mathjax. Hereās what it looks like (and Iāve included the mathjax at the bottom for comparison; but if the alternative formatting looks good, Iāll take the mathjax out & submit it as a suggestion):
@tndk922 If you have any input on how to fix the code, feel free to share
Hey @Ahmed7 , just wanted to get your thoughts on the alternative formatting I included above in place of mathjax or do we want to still troubleshoot for mathjax
I still think we should try fixing the mathjax, just not sure how to
@Parker I know youāve fixed mathjax inputs with past cards. Do you happen to know whatās wrong in this card?
The source code looks like this on my end:
Which looks like this:
Iām not sure if I fixed this card without suggesting a change.
Note: Shouldnāt the anode be āblackā? Iām not very good with cellsā¦!
Weird, below is what I see for my source; the earlier image I shared is what I see for Preview. Just curious to ask if you can create a new Anki profile & upload the AnkiHub deck to see if it shows properly because of an edit you made earlier or if thatās how it displays without any edits on your end?
Mine looks exactly the same! I tried to send a suggestion and the card says itās unchanged. So I donāt think Iāve changed anything.
Iām not sure what the problem is. I believe MathJax is native in Anki, is that correct? An add on isnāt needed to use mathjax. Can @tndk922 share a screenshot of the āPreviewā that looks funny and the source code?
Does the card still look funny after turning off all add ons? I tried turning off all my add ons and the card renders as intended!
If you go to the browser and find the card, or push edit on the card while reviewing, there will be something that looks similar to this:
On the little āSettingsā cog, you can unselect MathJax preview:
That will give you the MathJax without the formatting. Mine looks like this:
If yours does not look like that, try to fix it by typing in how it looks in the image. Though it looks like you are probably formatted correctly.
I have been doing some digging, and it seems like there might have been a fix in an update to anki? What version of Anki are you using (@tndk922 @Michael_B)? I am on a M2 mac, using the the Apple Silicon build. Are you both updated to 23.12.1 Qt6?
Some people were having problems, like what it looks like for @Michael_B, where the editor renders the ādegreeā fine, but on review it doesnāt. It seemed to be happening to other symbols as well. Here is the gethub for the issue. Unify exposed MathJax add-ons Ā· Issue #1773 Ā· ankitects/anki Ā· GitHub It looks like it was closed on Nov 19, 2023 and the last update was in December 2023. So perhaps an update of your Anki might fix it?
Ok, so it looked the same as yours when I unselected the MathJax Preview. However, I was using Version 23.10.1, so I updated to 23.12.1 and now the card looks fine! Thank you so much for looking into it!
Awesome! Iām glad that worked!
Itās showing perfectly on my end after the update as well. Thanks for all this help @Parker! Iāll close this suggestion for now since all was resovled
