Suggested phrasing leaves too much of the clause behind a cloze, ultimately. There may be better ways to adjust the syntax
Is this any better?
An unconditioned stimulus elicits an {{c1::unconditioned response}}.
Maybe change it to a/an so it doesn’t give away whether it’s conditioned or unconditioned through grammar, and it’s much better.
