While I agree that both the DCT and collecting duct respond to aldosterone I dont believe the collecting duct plays a role in waste product secretion.
That’s what it sounds like in this kaplan book excerpt about the collecting duct, that it plays a part in excretion as well unless I’m misinterpreting. It doesn’t state as clear cut but if you put the processes together in terms of how they work it makes sense
I’m not certain there is an explicit reference to waste products being secreted from the collecting duct. If there is a passage that directly supports this, I’m open to reconsidering though. Lmk if you find anything else.
We are missing the forest for the trees here. Yes, there are nuances. But for the sake of the MCAT just know that the collecting duct is generally Impermeable and if ADH is present, aquaporins are placed that allow water to be reabsorbed.
