UW states that “exercise-induced bronchoconstriction is very effectively prevented by premedication with an inhaled corticosteroid and beta agonist (eg, budesonide-formoterol) 10 minutes prior to exercise.”
UW Step 2 qid:3050 describes a young athlete with exercise-induced bronchoconstriction who exercises a few times per week, and the answer for inital therapy is “Inhaled corticosteroid and beta agonist 10 minutes before exercise”
I support, pending approval if anyone can find an NBME or remember an NBME question on this topic. Don’t see any tags for it currently other than IM shelf
Would ideally also want to check:

Need to clarify how this would differ from nid:1496188470679, which says that ICS+LABA is for someone who exercises daily
Oops, that was a mistake. It should have been ICS + SABA, not LABA. Fixed.
I was confused by why it’s a SABA for PRN but LABA for daily use (even though you’re still taking it before exercise). I couldn’t find any justification for that in UW or AMBOSS
