Feels redundant / confusing when you say “symptoms” x2 in that sentence. The original version reads more cleanly as “usually asymptomatic, but if symptomatic treat with BB and IV fluids.” IMO the new version reads as “usually symptomatic, and if symptoms don’t resolve then treat with BB and IV fluids.” #1 is more correct since most infants are asymptomatic.
Not sure if that is just how I am reading it, but I think the addition of the word “symptoms” is what’s potentially confusing. It sort of implies that this condition is clinically symptomatic when it often is not
