View Suggestion on AnkiHub

@medtobe it’s an excellent rationale, thank you. And thank you for the suggestion. We do ask, and require, that an MCAT-specific source citation be included with any and all content-related suggestions, in order to streamline the process of suggestions and deck maintenance. More information can be found here: AnKing MCAT Deck Submission Guidelines

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

@Brian_BH Thank you so much for your reply! Noted on your instructions to include an MCAT-specific source citation the next time, and for all of my future submissions. I shall do so next time. I understand how it would make things easier for everyone as well, to verify all that is being suggested, thanks a lot Brian

Unfortunately, the resource which I am using to study, Kaplan 2025-2026 Behavioral Sciences, only talks about Agnosia (pg. 128) and Aphasia (pg.185), and perhaps the MCAT would not even expect us to classify Alexia as distinct from Visual Agnosia (I could not find any relevant information on the Foundational Concepts 7A of the guidelines too). But I had just thought it to be accurate and beneficial for the above to be removed from the card so that others and myself would not have the wrong concepts of the big picture of things when we study. But it’s okay! I shall just ignore that portion the next time, thanks so much again Brian for taking the time to reply!

Thank you for the suggestion. For sure many hands make light work, and this is part of what keeps the resource flowing (and we all benefit).

This becomes one of the central tendencies we have to manage, and map. The very short version is that, being an MCAT-specific deck, we want to make sure that all of the info is really MCAT specific.

So, for example, maybe there’s some study out there, or a grad-level textbook, that shows that enzyme A does some weird extra behavior. Great, that’s awesome. But, if that’s not tested on the MCAT then it’s not really detail that we want to include. That might make it sound easy, but obviously it takes effort to make sure that we’re limiting the scope of the deck to the scope of the exam. It’s harder than it sounds, lol, which I’ve learned from experience. For this reason we really try to tie most (all?) changes to MCAT-specific resources in order to make sure that we keep to what is testable, and what needs to be known, for success on the MCAT itself.

None of that it meant as a criticism, at all, as I really appreciate the time and effort you put in, and fundamentally enthusiasm and shared effort like that is exactly what makes this deck, and community, as awesome at it is. So often we get rationales that are like “it’s wrong” and that makes sooooo much more work for us, so I really do appreciate the added effort you put in. I hope you’ll add more suggestions to the deck and I’m excited, and look forward, to seeing them

Always always if you have any questions, or if there’s anything I can do to help, please reach out and I’ll do my best.
