Separately, Kaplan states specifically that one of the ways that calcitonin functions to decrease plasma calcium is by increasing storage of calcium in bone. Thus, it is directly supported by a primary resource.
Additionally, we’re not currently adding cards to the deck so the addition of a third cloze won’t be entirely viable. For the suggestion to garner a bit more consideration we’ll need to ensure that the clozes don’t go above c2.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
the suggested change is factually correct, the original card isn’t great. but the clozes need to be edited as 3 are not necessary
Yeah, I double-checked Kaplan and part of the issue is that calcitonin decreases Ca+ in the blood precisely by building bone (page number escapes me, atm, but I can fetch it again), which also leaves the original card correct as well. The suggestion rationale, stating that ‘calcitonin does not…build bone’ is off since it does very much do that
In this case, I probably lean toward adding helpful context via an addendum in the Extra field (to note the details about decreasing calcium as a result of bone-building), rather than running the risk of confusing users by wholesale changing the content of the Text field
