Kaplan makes this one a bit tough in stating that “…sensitive period for language development…before the onset of puberty.”
Buuuuut, while the UWorld textbookts don’t explicitly state the window, they do have a graph that includes up to 18 years of age:
My instinct here might be, rather than tacking it onto the Text field, just to hedge our bets by appending a note in the Extra field, something to the effect of:
- The critical period of language development runs from birth until 18 years of age, peaking around ages 8-9.
This would be one of those things where an image (graph) in the Extra field might be an immediate homerun, tbh. @pkaps01 you got anything like that up your sleeve, by chance?
