@Brian_BH Which part of the submission guidelines are you referring to?

Hello, :slight_smile:

This was the part I had in mind when suggesting the edit:

The same formatting, for IVIG, is also used in other notes within the deck as well (nid:1681408691371), which also led me to imagine it might be useful to suggest:

I’m not married to it one way or the other, it just caught my eye and thought it might be useful. Happy to hew to whatever is considered preferable for the deck and formatting conventions as a whole

Thanks! I was just curious. Technically, the guideline is for diseases, however I imagine whoever wrote it also meant for the spirit of the guideline to be applied more generally as well. For treatments and molecules and such, it’s probably more of a case-by-case basis, but who am I to say. I got into a little debate with someone in the comments of one your other suggestions about this subject, so I was just curious. I def think it can be helpful for the sake of learning to have terms written out. For some reason I tend to lean against it if it’s a commonly used term, but I guess I’m more neutral than anything else.

I notice that nid:1681408691371 is the only card that writes out IVIG. Maybe this card would be a good one for writing out too, I don’t know where I stand :thinking:

Anyway, thus concludes my long, completely unsolicited opinion :slight_smile:

Agreed on all the above. Maybe it makes the most sense to spell it out if it’s an acronym that would not be immediately parsable, or could otherwise be confused with something else in a given context?

In that sense, IVIG isn’t exactly prone to being misinterpreted though other acronyms might not be as immediately evident upon passing glance.

As in: if there’s zero (or near-zero) potential for confusion, maybe spelling it out doesn’t really add much utility? Whereas if it is something that could easily be confused, or is less-than-evident, maybe that’s the qualifying feature that indicates it might be helpful to identify it? I don’t know how much of a gray line that is, though

Half riffing on the idea here. Ultimately, I’m happy to do whatever makes the most sense and be of help however I can. Also to adjust anything as desired to make sure I’m contributing better suggestions as a result

Teamwork = dream work :slight_smile:

Just out of curiosity, and to pick your brain, what are your instincts on something like this:

I’m not married to any one outcome, and won’t lose sleep either way, but helpful to have an idea of how/if there are preferences just for my own edification

Also hi, hello, happy Monday. :slight_smile:

Oh, that could definitely be Afib at the very least (in my opinion). If it’s a card that’s primarily tagged for step2, we tend to be less adamant about spelling out acronyms and abbreviations. I haven’t looked into that card specifcally, but just know that’s the attitude in general
