Agreed. It’s one of those suggestions that makes wording more precise. Yes, exons do “eventually” contribute to coding for proteins but they don’t do so directly. And for making distinctions between commonly grouped terms in multiple choice sets (like “exons” and “introns”), the suggested phrasing points more specifically to their difference

Only addition I’d make is specifying it’s the mRNA transcript
