View Suggestion on AnkiHub

@docox123 We are currently not adding Copywrite material to the deck. This goes against AnkiHub terms and conditions (which is why the media for the deck has to be downloaded separately) you may want to just protect your COMBANK Field if you want to keep adding the Q’s there

@docox123 Let me know when you’re ready and ill push the tags, I just don’t want to erase all your work by pushing before your COMBANK field is protected

JWill,

Thanks for letting me know, I didn’t relize that. I’ve gone through and protected those cards on my end so feel free to push the tags whenever.

I’m hoping you can provide a little clarity for me- I didn’t realize the media I had for this deck was something that I downloaded sepparately, and therefore has provided me access to a couple other things.

Do you know if AnkiHub has a way to push images only to those people with a subscription? I’m fairly certain there’s something like this for the Physeo section of the Anking deck and didn’t know if this has been done for other resources, or has been thought about.

Is there an easy way to tell which kinds of resources are ok to upload, and which ones aren’t?
Ex: How do these rules apply to the Savaerese images or the Amboss images?

Thanks,

I guess I’m just trying to be better about what content is Ok to upload and how to do it right for next time.

Yeah so there are a lot of things being discussed as far as how to control which media is being pushed or not but for right now the only way to control it is to just not push media that is copyrighted. So as for all the resources that are currently on the cards (savarese AMBOSS, FA) they are all part of the media link that was a MEGA file (it’s a google drive link now) in the deck description. So they’re not actually on AnkiHub which is why when you look at suggestions it’s just a bunch of little squares of small photo (representing the media referenced that AnkiHub doesn’t have) so new media must be free to use and cited properly “Photo credit: blah blah hyperlinked, via blah blah (most commonly wiki commons)”. Media already in the deck can be transferred from 1 card to another with out issue though.

Ok, got it. Thank you so much for the clarification!

One other side-question:

I’ve been doing some cards for tenderpoints and find myself getting the card “wrong” because I didn’t know that the back side of the card was a picture with the name of the tenderpoint and treatment for that tenderpoint, have you guys considered adding hints to these cards to make them more manageable?

For example as of right now, some of my cards look like this:
Front:

Back:

-I’ll see this card and think to myself what the location of this tenderpoint is, not realizing that this card also has the treatment for this location listed.

I’d rather see this card and know that I’m being tested on both location and treatment, and therefore it would be helpful to change the card to add a hint such that the updated card would look like this on the front:

Im not sure if this card is supposed to be this way, like a “review” card or something, and if this type of change would make these cards redundant with the cards that are already there.

Sorry for the overly long explanation, but I’ve found myself changing all these cards to look like this (I’ve just been protecting the “text” field on these cards as of right now), but I’m sure I’m not the only one who’s had this issue.

Thoughts?

Yeah so these are part of some cards that need some major cleaning. Clozed images of text are just never ideal. I know that they were probably way faster to make but the hope is to get all cards that are Clozes of images changed into text format and move the image (usually a screenshot from AMBOSS) moved to its designated field. It’s just impossible to search images which leads to dupe content, difficulty finding what you’re looking for, and also the exact problem you’re describing you have. so all around they’re very poor quality rn. I recently went through and cleaned up AL counterstrain points to delete some dupes and establish a foundation We’d like all CSP’s nids to follow.
see nid:1558442370543 (the one we’re keeping), and nids:1562968581510,1558442385116 (the ones that we are deleting from the deck). I did this for all AL1-5 points.

the format across all CSP’s would ideally be 1 nid formatted like so:

Counterstrain Tenderpoints: {{c1::“Point here”}}

Location = {{c2::“where”}}
Treatment = {{c2::“how”}}

for example, a little searching yields a second note (nid:1558442350022) for PR1 testing treatment so really they’ll need their content to be merged onto one, formatted properly and the other marked for deletion.

Awesome, I did notice the those card adjustments that you had made to the AL1-5 cards and really like that format better for all the reasons you listed above. I’d be very interested in making and suggesting those changes to these cards as I work my way through them.

Is that ok if I make those suggestions as I go, or are those changes you and the maintainers were hoping to make?

I may make mistakes now and then that require future adjustments, but I’d be happy to do my best.

No, by all means feel free! We’ll take all the help we can get! Just make sure to reference on your suggestion all the nids that way we can compare them quickly when reviewing the suggestion.

I believe it be best to mark the old card for deletion, and then suggest a new card with the updates, correct?

I’m remembering from another deck that I helped manage that editing cards and creating multiple cloze deletions required suggesting new cards, and might not always work.

No, adding clozes to the original works just fine. this will help preserve review history as much as possible.

you can see the changes I made here: Bulk suggestion

Oh I see- merging is only nessesary in the case when there are duplicates covering the same material.

It looks like when you made the changes, you didn’t need to suggest it any new cards, and that suggesting that change added the new cloze cards in automatically, right?

Correct adding clozes are just “suggest a change” updates and take effect on the same nid at the original card just adds additional cid’s
