Part of a bulk suggestion to update these terms across 12 cards
Indifferent, feel like the current terms are perfectly fine unless there is specific reason not to use them?
Feels like a step in the wrong direction in terms of medical communication. Terms like oligomenorrhea don’t show up normal speech and so so when these terms are used it’s 100% clear that you’re talking about something with a very specific definition. Nobody uses these terms when talking to a patient anyway so I don’t see the benefit of this change.
Really unfortunate that FIGO went in this direction imo.
Yeah I guess it just felt contradictory to have nid:1462993071890 telling not to use these terms and then using them in other cards
Amboss mentions “These terms may still be encountered in clinical practice, but their use is no longer recommended as they are considered imprecise and ambiguous.”
