@Michael_B, correct; should be -COOH rather than -COON. I presume just a typo.

Yup. There’s another edit for unprotonated to protonated. Saying this for “acidic solutions” in general is blurry since the carboxyl’s pKa is 2 and it depends on whether the pH is above or below the pKa. We do have “e.g. pH 1” as an example but that doesn’t define acidity enough so I’ve added in “highly acidic solutions…”

That’s a good distinction. I didn’t type out my full thoughts, but certainly without knowing how acidic it could affect whether or not a given thing is protonated.
