Another note, I would rather use 28 days as the cutoff instead of 1 month since this is what’s used in amboss and UW
@Anking-maintainers original card seems like it was based off of the old image in extra, UpToDate agrees with change (cephalosporin is substituted in place of gent for meningitis; Vanc is substituted in for amp in case of MRSA/reason to believe resistant organism is present). UW Step 2 QID 17310 covers use of amp + gent in neonatal sepsis, states cef + vanc is used > 1 month
If approved, will add a note to extra explaining change since we’re changing quite a bit of info
Could add “Babies are considered neonates until 28 days old” to extra field or shortened version. This isn’t something I came across until peds rotation and some users may see this card before then
@Step2-AnKing-Maintainers Would like another upvote or two before pushing as we’re eliminating a cloze. Added note of the change made in extra and edited the hints a bit to be shorter/more clear
support but what if with the second one we put:
“or {{c2::ampicillin + cefotaxime::2}} (if meningitis is suspected)”
I think it would be nice it that information was still on the screen after flipping to the back of the card
Agreed, especially since if you are doing cloze 1 card you will not see that hint at all!
Updated, I think its good to push now
