Would like to see the language from the cloze somehow retained in Extra. Also (personally) would prefer to remove the word “epidermal” from the cloze just to keep it concise
I think language in cloze was inaccurate as the pathophys isn’t to do with anti-gliadin Abs and transglutaminases (as per uworld and AMBOSS) but just the anti-epidermal transglutaminases complexing with transglutaminase
Maybe change to “cross-reactivity between anti-epidermal tTg antibodies and transglutaminase at the dermal basement membrane → complement activation and neutrophil recruitment → bullous rash” in extra?
changed - > to →
Made minor format / grammar edits
@AnKing-Maintainers I had to do some research to refresh my knowledge here-- I very much think @yelbardisi is correct here, and the Step 2 UW qid corroborates this. The IgA in dermatitis herpetiformis is NOT simply an anti-gliadin antibody that cross-reacts; it is more of a true anti-transglutaminase autoantibody that arises through a gluten-driven anti-TG response (again, NOT cross reactivity between anti-gliadin and transglutaminase)
If we’re approving this, the extra section in card 1482359386135 needs to be updated too
