the original note is talking about atherosclerotic plaque and thrombus and i am not sure how they are related to vasospastic angina!! which supposed to have free angiography as part of it’s diagnostic criteria
Definitely needs a change, although I think the explanation needs a review. It’s multimodal, but 2 main mechanisms are;
Provocation of spasm by acetylcholine and methacholine suggests vagal and sympathetic tone imbalance
Vascular smooth muscle hyperreactivity – Increased calcium sensitivity of the vascular myosin light chain has a role in spasm
