grammar needs to be fixed
“have overweight” is grammatically correct; see this article Overweight and Obesity — What They Mean – Cleveland Clinic and Merriam Webster, which lists overweight as both a noun and an adjective
According to the Cleveland Clinic, "Because we’re talking about health conditions, most healthcare providers have moved away from describing people as “overweight” or “obese” and instead are talking in terms of “having overweight” or “having obesity.” "
I agree with the person-first language, but personally don’t think this is correct grammatically (thank you for your sources), reading this will trip me up, need to find a better way to word this still, can anyone else also weigh in?
I kind of agree with Ahmed, this is the first I’ve seen overweight used as a noun; think it’d trip people up more than it’s worth until this becomes more broadly used. Would opt for “Patients who are overweight or have obesity…”
