yeah but this card talks about weak bases in general and amphetamines is mentioned as an example, maybe suggest to remove amphetamine from the card as other bases would be treated with urine acidification
Quite a few resources now say most efforts in eliminating weak bases by urinary acidification is not supported anymore. Furthermore, in First Aid 2022, page 233, the part about “Treat overdose with ammonium chloride to acidify urine” has now been removed. I would support accepting this change. I see yeah you’re right, include this in the extra if decided to implement change: “efficacy has not been established and iatrogenic toxicity (from severe acidemia) can occur” its from the up to date article
