While I agree that a change is needed, this isn’t quite what the card is saying, the key differentiator is ‘commonly’. It seems to be implying that cocaine commonly causes arrythmia, whereas lidocaine only causes it rarely. However, lidocaine is specifically used as an antiarrythmic, and to my knowledge, the only setting cocaine is really still used as a local anaesthetic is for the eye, where I would imagine the risk of arrythmia is extremely low. Obviously used recreationally, that’s far more common, but that’s well above local anaesthetic doses. I think there are two options.
A. Change the wording from ‘local anaesthetic’ to ‘stimulant’, or B. change to lidocaine, and change from ‘commonly’ to ‘sometimes’. Given that lidocaine is sometimes used IV for its antiarrythmic effects, my vote would be for B, as I think that’s the more high yield point - there’s enough cards covering cocaine-induced heart problems, imo, and the main risk is vasospasm causing MI.
