@AnKing-Maintainers

Don’t remove breastfeeding
breastfeeding =/= no estrogen containing contraceptive

Is the suggested text the change or the image?

No these are two separate cards (nids) covering similar but NOT the same concepts. It’s on a slack post a couple days ago (Nov 9th)

@AnKing-Maintainers Bump:
Would be great to get this finalized before the slack history is lost.

QID check #AK_Step2_v12::#UWorld::Step::16587
#AK_Step2_v12::#UWorld::Step::3339

Step 3 QID that is tagged is not appropriate to this card (not specific to postpartum)

16587
25 y/o G2P2 2 weeks presents to clinic for postpartum (2 weeks ago) visit and contraception counseling. She breastfeeds and would like to start reliable contraception as soon as possible. She takes iron supplement for IDA 2/2 heavy menstrual bleeding.
Correct answer = Subdermal progestin-releasing implant
Incorrect answer Progestin-only OCP, combined OCP, copper IUD,
Explanation suggests that copper IUD is equally correct if she did not have hx of heavy menstrual bleeding. Progestin only contraception method would decrease menstrual bleeding. Dermal implant is more efficacious than oral.

3339
32 y/o G1P1 presents for routine checkup 6 weeks after vaginal delivery and wants to discuss contraception. She also has hx of heavy menstrual bleeding that caused IDA. She was prescribed iron but forgets to take. She was inconsistent with taking pre-natals.
Correct answer = progestin-releasing IUD
Incorrect answer = Combined OCP, copper IUD, medroxyprogesterone injection, no contraception needed while breastfeeding
Explanation: she’s bad at remembering to take meds so IUD

Given that I’d say this update is needed even more so. If Copper IUD is “equally acceptable” in PP breastfeeding the phrase “contraceptive option” isn’t clear enough and using “formulation” instead would let users know that you are not asking for Copper IUD bc that’s not really a “formulation” given there are no hormones involved.

Any objections before moving forward?
