@DillingerMed @Cameron After thinking I would lean towards adding non-infectious meningitis to the extra section of an existing card (e.g. nid:1481767856185). Could add a sentence on the causes of meningitis and at the end add non-infectious causes are rare (e.g. medications, tumors). Prefer to stay away from cards that are similar to practice questions and focus more on the educational info (that meningitis can rarely be non-infectious). Open to discussion of course though
Agree, personally would like to see other resources covering/testing this before making it it’s own card. Particularly since it’s one of the higher hammer AMBOSS questions, feel like those tend to be meaner than the real deal. Don’t think I’ve ever heard of this before, at least not in this context
On reflection, I agree with your sentiment about not adding too many question-specific cards. That card is a Step 1 card though so may be confusing for users. Maybe it’s just one of those that I take the L, especially with it only getting 36% correct answers.
Good point, was just looking for a card that was somewhat related, definition of meningitis so thought it might be a good place to add info about the different aetiologies. Ya might be something for discussion with the community but part of doing practice questions is also learning to handle questions with content you haven’t fully learned, as on the real exam you’ll definitely find questions on content you haven’t fully learned.
