I think this is a great change. Just want another set of eyes on it
this is acc rlly good i support, AMBOSS states desmopressin: (paraphrased) → dose-dependent increases in plasma factor VIII (antihemophilic factor), plasminogen activator, and, to a lesser degree, factor VIII-related antigen and ristocetin cofactor activities.
can’t actually find a direct source myself that confirms this change. can we get a specific link to something that confirms that desmopressin specifically increases factor 8? and whether factor 8 lives in the weibel palade bodies? (i know pathoma says that it does)
hemophilia A amboss (https://next.amboss.com/us/article/uT0ps2#Z08b4378d313d6ff49266f710b0833e55) - “Triggers the release of vWF from endothelial cells, which leads to an increase in factor VIII plasma concentration” -(“The exact mechanism of action behind this is not fully understood. One theory suggests that vWF has a stabilizing effect on factor VIII, thereby increasing its concentration.”)
