Error Message with Import with Merge Notetype

Hello, I keep getting the message “500: Your database appears to be in an inconsistent state. Please use the Check Database action.” when I try to import a new deck from files. It seems to only happen with some decks and only when I select to merge note types. I have searched online and tried syncing and restarting, “check database”, etc. but nothing has worked so far. Anyone know how to fix this?

What’s your Anki version? Can you share or link to a deck that has the problem?

I have Anki Version ⁨23.12.1 (1a1d4d54)⁩
The particular deck I noticed this issue with was called Psych EOR: https://ankiweb.net/shared/info/972983840

If I turn off the merge notetype function then the error message does not appear, but I get the message that “57⁩ notes were not imported, because their notetype has changed, and ‘⁨Merge notetypes⁩’ was not enabled.”

This message is expected, but if you’re consistently getting the “Your database appears to be in an inconsistent state” error and can reproduce it without add-ons, please report the issue in the official forums so that Anki’s developer can see it: https://forums.ankiweb.net/

I am aware that the message of not being able to import because of changed note types is normal, however every time I try to add the deck and merge the notetypes, I get the error that the database is in an inconsistent state. But thank you anyway!

I couldn’t reproduce the error with the deck you linked to. It’s possibly a bug so I suggest reporting it to the developers (maybe with a copy of your collection).
