Welcome to the MCASOM Anatomy 2025 anki deck project!

We’re very happy to have you participate and hope this will greatly enhance your learning and the learning of classes after you.

Goals:

  1. Reduce Cards - This was initially a 7000 card deck which was 1000 cards per week and ~150 cards per day. This was too much. Not only was it overwhelming during the course, it also had a great deal of redundancy. Long-term goals are for around 100 cards per day and closer to 5000 cards total for the entire course.
  2. Reduce Redundancy - While a lot of the redundancy has been eliminated, students in the past have pointed out further opportunities to eliminate repeat topics and combine cards. This will help increase speed of learning and review without sacrificing covered material.
  3. Update Information & Reduce Errors - A lot of the errors from the start have been greatly reduced making this a very usable resource for studying. Improvements are always welcome and we are happy to hear your feedback.

Future Plans

  1. Update As We Go - As students unlock each of the topics, maintainers can rapidly implement suggestions and quickly distribute these updates to each student.
  2. Make Cadaver Cards Searchable - Your maintainers will go through all 2000+ cadaver cards and add each of the testable terms you see in a searchable comment section below the card. So in the future if someone needed to search any artery, vein, muscle, etc. it would be rapidly and accurately accessible.
  3. Improve Embryology - A plan is still being formed as this is an obvious weak point of the deck. Suggestions are welcome.

Expectations

  1. Please Be Patient - This is our first time attempting something to this scale. We are optimistic, but still learning ourselves. It is a lot of work, but we hope it will be worth it.
  2. Understand Trade Offs - Sometimes there will be no perfect solution to testing a topic and we will have to make a decision regardless.
  3. Participate - Do not be afraid to add reasonable suggestions! Just seeing that a topic is not being tested perfectly is enough to take another look at it.
