I do agree that, without any sort of cueing the card is kind of wide open (and could, arguably, be multiple things). I don’t dislike the current hint, but I wonder if it’s worth pondering a bit. ‘Steroid hormone precursor’ I feel like might give it a way a bit. ‘Lipid’ might be overly broad. ‘Structural lipid’?
