@pkaps01 unless I’m missing some source that says so, the thalamus is part of the forebrain, and the limbic system also part of the forebrain, but the thalamus is not part of the limbic system. Correct me if I’m misremembering

Not positive but I think the thalamus is included in the limbic system based on this video.

  • 1:15these are the four main structures of the limbic system
  • 1:17when it comes to emotion.
  • 1:18 So “HAT” stands for Hypothalamus, “A” for Amygdala,
  • 1:31"T" for Thalamus, and “hippo,” short for hippocampus.
  • 1:40And these happen to be the four structures
