If someone cares to track these down, that’s fine. I’m going to leave them up for the time being, but the truth is that these rationales are just too flimsy to trust on their own. Some of them might be fine, but some of them aren’t sufficiently appropriate.

If not resolved in a few days we can just delete them. Bigger fish to fry, and probably not a great use of our time to do the legwork for as many of these are there are.

If you dont mind keeping them im planning to track them down. Though the tagging is a little too liberal in some cases at least they are doing some of the legwork of connecting questions to cards. I haven’t done all the UWorld questions but I’ll keep plugging in his recommended QIDs to see if they are ones I have done and will add a little bit more rationale if they’re relevant. If they aren’t questions Ive done already it’s a little difficult/will take longer because then I dont want to skip over doing the questions themselves to get to the rationale because I want to do them for my own prep work.

Yeah, for sure

A couple of (quick points):

  • There’s no expectation that maintainers have to do that. If we have the spare time, great. But, stuff like this doesn’t scale well and might inadvertently contribute to lazy suggestions. It’s not the most judicious use of our time.
  • For sure some of these tags are errant. They’re maybe loosely related, but not ‘necessary to answer the question’ so we want to be tight about their inclusion. I rejected a few outright because they just didn’t line up.
  • Keep in mind you mind spend 30-60 min tracking these down just to wake up to 50 more tomorrow, and the next day, etc. Groundhog’s day vibes, lol.

Yeah you’re right. Could start interfering with time for reviewing other suggestions a lot. In that case I think I agree with you that probably just makes sense to reject and at least I could scroll through their suggestions when I have more time.

I’ve also very much fallen for this, especially when I was just starting out. You want to field everything that comes into play, but it can also work against you especially when time is worth its weight in gold

30-60 min for maybe half a dozen mediocre UWorld tags (when we already have 2,500 or whatever)? Or 30-60 min working on new images, or cleaning up high-quality suggestions, or what have you?

Lensed like that, the priorities feel fairly clear, imo. Given infinite time, there’s no end to the balls I’d chase, though.

Yeah you’re right. Cant make it work right now but will maybe have time to scroll through the rejected ones in the future when I have some more time.
