I do like split cloze. I came up with this to make it a bit more concise.

Then in extra add bit about primary fetal hemoglobin decreasing with age
we could do the zanki style

I generally don’t like bonus format because it makes it seem like that information is less important (and the reasoning is arguably more important here)
Would prefer still 1 cloze for whole card to connect it (also, might have just been a mistake, but does not make sense to say “(e.g. HbF)” because the issue is decreased total HbF and increased defective HbA)
prefer original, there’s no rationale given for the change either
