i think its high yield to know 3rd gen, since they cross BBB, i think we should keep it as just cephalosporins, otherwise makes it too easy
Support Ahmed here, and I’d switch the presentation of sentences in extra as Vanc and Amp are going to be used in almost every case while cefepime is a smaller detail
If we remove the 3rd gen, I need to add Cefepime to c1. Is that what you suggest?
I think he meant put cefepime under the sentence for “vancomycin is used for more” since its a more high yield association
As Ahmed said; while cefepime is technically first-line in a certain subset, it’s not your only choice in that subset and the vast majority of the time it’ll be one of those two 3rd gens which is more helpful for boards
I get that but it is a first line option and it is a cephalosporin. We have 4 options, specify “3rd gen”, specify “most cases”, specify “immunocompetent community acquired”, or add cefepime to the cloze. What do yall want?
I’d specify “…bacterial meningitis in the immunocompetent?” I’m not seeing any mention of hospital-acquired meningitis in the AMBOSS article and keeps it simple.
