Like the idea of adding “AKA infantile hypotonia” to extra, not sure anything else needs to change just yet though. This is straight from Sketchy and still referenced as “floppy baby syndrome” in FA24, particularly in context of ingestion of honey
Agree with @Cameron
I just checked FA24 and it mentions “floppy baby syndrome” on 4 occasions
Page 41 “it was talking about SMA”
Page 136 “leads to a disease (floppy baby syndrome)”
Page 544 “again about SMA”
Page 721 “rapid review about botulism”
I am thinking of sth like this
{{c1::Floppy baby }} syndrome can be due to {{c2::Clostridium botulinum}} infection; seen in babies following ingestion of spores in honey
Changes I made:
- Remove the word syndrome from the cloze
- Change “is due to” to “Can be due to”
- Add (AKA infantile hypotonia) to the extra section
This way the cloze can’t have multiple correct answers and we still asking about floppy baby syndrome
This would be a bit more appropriate change, although really not necessary to exclude “syndrome” from the cloze because most people have been doing just fine with it, but I’m okay with it.
Also “can occur due to” seems bit more flowy to me than “can be due to”?
Good amount of votes for adding “AKA” to extra and leaving rest same; going to keep cloze as is so we can resolve for now
