Agreed for the most part. The only thing that gives me pause is the phrasing âfollows a group of individuals back at eventsâŚâ
@learnankihub I think itâs important to keep âfollows a group of individualsâ because that is the same as the prospective and the more they match the less likely people will memorize them based on wording alone. Maybe the cloze can be âbackwards through time at events that have already taken place (into the past).â
The âfollows a groupâ part I agree is essential to the card and the concept, but the phrasing âfollows a group back atâ sounds off.
@learnankihub this is what i think would sound better:
A Retrospective Cohort study follows a group of individuals {{c1::backwards through time at events that have already taken place (into the past)
alternatively this might be better:
A Retrospective Cohort study follows a group of individuals {{c1:: within a defined period in the past (into the past)}}.
Agreed those are both I think nicer ways to phrase.
I sort of like the âbackwardsâ because it contrasts nicely with âfollowing forwardâ as in a prospective study, though from a purely grammatical perspective i wonder if âfollow backwardsâ isnât a bit of an unwieldy phrasing. What do you think?
Yea that was my first instinct but I thought u didnât like it when I mentioned it in my first response.
No, itâs not that. It was the phrasing âfollows back atâ that I thought just sounded disjointed grammatically.
Looking back my response wasnât clear, I suppose; I was intending to agree with you and draw a contrast to the very first phrasing as a way of agreeing that the latter part of your message I thought was more fitting. Maybe my fault for excessive brevity.
Oh ok, I edited the suggestion to include the backwards statement take a look and edit it if it needs any further.
