I think this is low or medium yield tbh @mohsenz22 @Stapedius

Oh yeah I agree on low, the high tag must have stayed over from the previous card I was making and I missed changing it. @braviboron

There were a few with high yield too in the same sequence. You can change on Ankihub but it’s a bit of a pain. Otherwise I can accept and you can change the tags by yourself in the browser and autoapprove @mohsenz22

Some of these actually might be ‘beyond medical school’, thoughts @mohsenz22 @Stapedius

Yes it would be much easier to fix on Anki thank you. If you guys believe they’re out of the deck’s scope then feel free to reject them, although, I would disagree.

Hmm I suppose one could say that the ‘follow-up’ cards are ‘beyond medical school’ but I think the rest have higher yield. The most high yield in my opinion are the two cards questioning the next step (x-ray if not deformed, splint then x-ray if deformed). The Gartland classification cards could be medium yield because one would need to know that for management. The rest can be low-yield because even management (slab, refer, etc.) can be looked up quickly without having to recall it on the spot, although, I believe one would still like like to know these facts. Let me know what you think @braviboron @Stapedius

@braviboron sorry guys I haven’t had the time to review many cards over the past week in prep for the AGM etc. but will check this out as soon as I can. On a very brief quick look though I would say this is definitely low yield. If I’m beyond honest I’ve never even heard of the Gartland classification for supracondylar fractures; paediatric ortho is very niche. I would argue the extent of yield for this would be ‘what is the gartland classification’ used for??’ (medium or low yield) and then everything outside of that beyond medical school if you want to keep it in. At the end of the day, an intern medical officer is very limited in their scope of practice and we ought to focus on cards that approach more common presentations. @mohsenz22

@Stapedius Supracondylar fractures are relatively common and frequently questioned though. I agree that the Gartland classification might be more niche but I still think the ‘first-steps’ in management are important to know. If accepted, the rest can be low-yield/beyond.

@mohsenz22 I have also never heard of Gartland. I think these cards are beyond med school. Maybe a card on what classification system is used for … and the inverse i.e. what is the Gartland classification system used for, these are medium/low yield, but the specific Gartland ones are beyond med school. That doesn’t mean they’re not good for the deck @mohsenz22, some people may still want to go further/an ED reg for example might like to do them.

The first steps management ones are probably medium yield for the average med studnet or intern. High yield for an ED reg or Ortho reg for sure, but probably a bit too hard for most med students. @Stapedius

Fair points, I’ll edit the tags accordingly for the ones that get accepted. @braviboron
