I donāt know where the idea that air trapping = silent chest came from (in the original card). I also donāt understand how this relates to the pathophysiology of acute asthma exacerbation. I would like to see āsilent chestā mentioned in the question (next to marked decrease in wheezing) and keep āintubationā as the next best step (the question should only ask about the next step)
Amboss does mention that a severe asthma exacerbation would present with a silent chest, indicating limited to no airflow, which I take to mean air-trapping
@mohannadkh10 agree, maybe we can change to āsevereā air trapping?
@ahmed7 @mohannadkh10 Updated, good to go?
---- marked decrease in wheezing (āsilent chestā) would be a simpler and shorter version imo
I support the change but i guess we need enough votes on this
If I remember correctly, UW QID explanation emphasizes poor air movement⦠would not change
