Someone else has another open suggestion to make this change as well that I just noticed.

There’s a UWorld question tagged that seems to be deleted because I can’t make a qbank using that QID #AK_Step2_v12::#UWorld::Step::6849

I emailed USPSTF to ask what guidelines they have for lipid screening and they responded saying they have no guidelines for that.

This card needs to be changed because it’s very incorrect

It’s a self assessment question about a women in her 60s and asked about the appropriate screening
Didn’t see the question though

nid:1542852438449 has a related, open suggestion and should be updated similarly to what we decide here.

Personally, I think this concept is super convoluted for some reason.
nid:1517585128344 OR nid:1542852438440 OR nid:1542852438449 OR 1577239022547 OR nid:1580087543426 OR nid:1580415173868

Pretty consistently we have it saying 40 (with saying 45 once) but they all reverence the guidelines related to CVD and statins. Which I don’t think is an accurate source for general guidelines for screening as stated in previous comments.

Personally, I think we should go with 20 yo but not sure how we reconcile all the cards to make sure everything is accurate across cards

I think it’s convoluted because USPSTF used to have a lipid screening recommendation, but stopped having one in 2022. The old one said start males at 35 and females at 45. Which is why it’s formated with (men and women). USPSTF no longer have any recommendations relayed to lipid screening. I even emailed USPSTF and they replied.

You don’t wait until 40 year old to perform a lipid screening. A lipid screen is even performed on children once between 9-11 years old.

Probs we delete the nid that specifically asks for USPSTF guidelines for general screening?

In the middle on this one but lean towards support - seems like there isn’t a lot of agreement between society recommendations, but suggestion definitely more accurate than previous card. Should change “5” to “4 - 6”, and add a note to extra that one time screening is also recommended between 9-11.
