View Suggestion on AnkiHub

@anking-maintainers anyone with good anatomy knowledge that can comment? I think it depends where exactly the compression is… the sister note has open suggestion as well and tbh these 2 look identical to me rn. See UW below.

Seeing conflicting info on other sources, multiple sources say dorsum of the hand is lost in cubital tunnel compression only - seems as if UW is going against AMBOSS (it’s noting that medium dorsum numbness is a differentiating factor). Think AMBOSS might be incorrect on this?

edit was formatting; I do not have good enough anatomy knowledge to add to what has already been said

As crazy as this is to say, I believe AMBOSS is incorrect on this one. The dorsal branch of ulnar nerve does not travel through Guyon canal so you shouldn’t expect it to become compressed causing loss of dorsal sensation. I cycle and on long rides can experience mild symptoms, for me it only affects the palmar side.

Also I went through AMBOSS references used for that article and now I’m even more convinced it’s incorrect.

Here’s 2nd and 3rd sentence from introduction “Depending on the location of the lesion within Guyon’s canal, the symptoms may show different forms. They are similar to the symptoms of the groove for ulnar nerve, excluding the disturbances in the cutaneous innervation of the dorsum of the hand.

I’m going to close this one out and send feedback to AMBOSS to double check that article
