What do you think about changing it to “levothyroxine” instead of thyroid hormone

Levo is not the only thyroid hormone pts are prescribed. And therefore might not be the, only, one adjusted. (For example Lio “T3”)

Support changing, What about?

Hypothyroidism in pregnancy requires {{c1::increased::increased / decreased}} dosing of thyroid hormone

Fair, I guess no harm in keeping it as “thyroid hormone”

Part of my intent with eliminating the word “hypothyroidism” was to avoid the possibility that the reader interprets the stem as saying “if there are increased signs of hypothyroidism during pregnancy → increase TH”, since it’s my understanding that thyroid hormone dosage is usually increased as a standard measure in pregnancy, not just in response to signs of hypothyroidism. I got that from lecture though, no source to back it up

Technically true, but I don’t think T₃ is even recommended in pregnancy. UW 8888 states that “those who are taking T₃ should be changed to levothyroxine alone if considering pregnancy” But I am fine with “thyroid hormone” or “thyroid hormone replacement”

It’s also worth mentioning that this change (increase the dose by 30%) should happen when pregnancy is detected (i.e., not prior), because the question above directly asked about this and there are two options: “prior to pregnancy” OR "at the time of pregnancy
It actually tricked me because I thought maybe it’s the same thing as a folate supplement, but obviously I was very much mistaken
