@AnKing-Maintainers there are three open suggestions about this

support, but need to remove PE from the text, as if wells score for PE is high then it would be CTPA

How about just replacing “thromboembolism (DVT/PE)” with “DVT”? And does the Extra bit about CTA need to change?

The image in the extra should be removed as well

The extra section is all about PE so I am not sure about this change (cause if the card is meant to test PE then all the tags and images “eg sketchy” will be about PE”)

Core issue is really “what do we want this card to cover” - DVT does not usually get empiric anticoagualtion for high PTP unless there is reason to suspect delay in diagnostic testing, PE does however (i.e., the answer is not the same for both disease processes).

Would try to see what cards we have for each topic and adjust this one accordingly.

@AnKing-Maintainers I just updated the suggestion. Please consider voting. I believe this is a good fix, but please chime in if it needs anything else

Have you considered other cards on this topic? I am worried that this change could make it a duplicate

I do believe this card overlaps with other cards on the topic, both for PE and DVT

PE examples: nid:1557155284271,1511029834678,1474426264636,1488767936242,1536437693761,1550754602325,1555371471632,1474340754145

DVT examples: nid:1532269980883,1511025895605,1474340749040

Although this content may be covered by other cards, I think something should be done about the fact that the card contradicts AMBOSS and other nids by saying that the next step for high suspicion of DVT is heparin (because in fact it would be compression US)

I have two suggestions for this @AnKing-Maintainers
option 1 (similar to this one about PE: 1555371471632)

What is the first step in management of a suspected deep vein thrombosis (DVT) with the following Wells score?

Wells score ≥ 2: {{c1::Compression ultrasound before anticoagulation}}
Wells score < 2: {{c1::D-dimer; if positive, proceed to ultrasound)}}

Option 2: change this one to sth like this

High suspicion for pulmonary embolism (PE) is managed with {{c1::heparin anticoagulation::next step}}

High suspicion for deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is managed with {{c1::compression ultrasound::next step}}

Prefer Option 1. Since we’ve already got a card testing the same format for PE, makes a good amount of sense to do it for DVT. Agree this card should be corrected
