Anki error message, browse now working

Please someone help, I have spent hours upon hours trying to fix this, I am a girl and i found the phython coding for the issue but dont know where the python folder is on my finder (that should tell you the lengths i went). Idk know if thats the problem and before you ask yes i have tried it. to be exact heres what i have tried:

  1. the anki trouble shooting manual
  2. making a new profile
  3. restarting anki
  4. restarting my computer
  5. opening anki in safe mode (the problem still occured)
  6. turning off all my add ons and it still happened
  7. checked data base after each thing and every 5 seconds, and it always says its fine
  8. I downloaded a new version of anki since there was one available and thought that would fix the issue but it didnt
  9. I tried all the video driver options, none fixed it
  10. I reset my window size or whatever and it never worked

Believe me i have dug deep but i think it stems from a coding issue that is out of my control idk pls im begging on my hands and knees for someone to help.

Can you try the following:

Please try resetting your local changes. To do this:

Go to browse in your Anki → at the top click on the ankihub addon tab → press reset all local changes

This will restore everything to what AnkiHub has unless you have specifically protected those fields

Also, keep the clickable tags v20 add-on disabled for now

I’ll get a dev to look at this for you as well, to expedite the process, can you also do the following?

Please use AnkiHub > Help > Upload logs and data and let us know the filename shown.

Okay thank you so much for getting back to me. I did all the above and made sure I didn’t have any protected fields. I’m currently waiting for the “uploading logs and data” to finish. Do you know if it’s supposed to take a long time because it’s been about 10 minutes.

Also I would like to add that I created my own deck or sub deck within my anking-MCAT deck a while ago and it was working fine. Up until about 2 weeks ago, that’s when the browse feature stopped working. I was tagging the cards I was making with the original anking-mcat tags that matched the context of my new card. Was I not supposed to do that? So what I did yesterday was save and delete my deck and make it into its own ankihub deck that uploaded and I did your steps just now but still nothing. I can’t believe I can’t figure this out it’s been killing me.

It shouldn’t take too long, but if it takes >30 mins then you can just cancel it.

This is fine to do, but they end up being overwritten eventually since they are not synced with AnkiHub. You will need to either protect them or use another tag and protect them (Tutorial on how to protect tags from being overwritten: How to Protect Personal Tags from being Overwritten)

This can end up causing some issues. Another option would be to restore to a backup from before the issue occurred, but the problem would be that your progress will go back to what it was during the backup.

Hopefully we don’t need to get to that point, @abdo.nh will look into this further for you and see what we can do

Also,

Did you reset local changes from the official AnKing-MCAT deck or your version that you’ve uploaded? (just double checking)

Also do the following:

yes i did the reset local files for both. the uploading of logs and data isnt working it wont complete so im going to do the export of collection without media files
