**Before the error happened, my computer froze and I had to force restart. Please help, I’ve quit Anki multiple times trying to reset, but nothing works.

Ok so it’s still not working. All of my decks show 0 cards. It says local settings need to be restored, asks if I want to restore them now, so I do, but then nothing is changed and still shows 0 cards for all of my decks. I’ve signed in and out. I’ve tried to sync many times. I’ve trying downloading from device and from AnkiWeb. Nothing is working, please help.

Yes. Before this happened, my computer froze so I forcibly restarted it and all of my cards were gone (but all the decks are there, just without any cards).

Two things I would recommend you try:

Resetting local changes (this is what I would try first): Resetting Local Changes

If that does’t work; restore from a backup: this will restore your collection to a point in the past, exactly as it was. Note that this will mean you will lose any review progress since the point in time at which you choose to restore. Backups are time-stamped so you can choose your restoration point: How to Restore From Backup

Neither worked. All of my decks still show zero cards. Have I lost everything?

I can see a lot of cards when I browse decks and preview the cards, but my main home page shows 0 for every deck.

If you see a lot of cards when you browse decks it sounds like you have a lot of cards present. :slight_smile:

Are the cards, by chance, suspended?

For my edification: did you reset local changes, or restore from backup?

I first tried to reset local changes, nothing seemed like it changed. Then I restored from backup, and again nothing seem to have changed. Everything shows 0 no matter what I do.

Well, if you said that before all your cards were gone, and now the cards are present, it does seem like something changed. :slight_smile:

Are you familiar enough with Anki to look through your tags (from the browser)? Specifically we want to look for ‘step1_v12’ and see if that’s there

You’re right, I think something changed but I just didn’t realize it because now when I toggle the cards are showing up!

I’m not familiar enough to look for tags like that…I’m such an Anki novice!

From your main screen, can you click on ‘Browse’:

From there, on the left-hand side, you should see this:

Click on tags to open it up, and see if you have this tag present:

If that tag is not present, we have some more work to do. If it is present, we should be sitting pretty. :slight_smile:
