How to get rid of this icon?

Hi, how can I get rid of that missing media icon? I have it in many cards. The sketchy and extra media is all in my deck but some of the fields like physeo and additional resources just have that icon and I would like to get rid of it

In this case you’ll most likely want to protect those fields, which will prevent those images from showing up: Managing Protected Fields

Hmm just tried that I synced it the little images are all still there?

Just to make sure I’m on the same page: you protected those fields on Ankihub and the little icons are still showing up like that for you?

For example, I protected additional information (see image)

Kk, what version of Anki are you running, which OS, and do you have the Anking Note Types add-on installed?

Yes I have the anking note types, I have anki ⁨24.11 and MAC 15.1.1; do I need to delete the deck and re-sync it? Also am I supposed to have the additional resources pictures or am I safe to get rid of them?

No, I would not generally recommend deleting the entire deck (your review progress would go with it). :slight_smile:

Typically the ‘Additional Resources’ field is protected, which prevents those little broken-image icons from appearing.

My hunch is that the field was unprotected at some point, though without the appropriate media in your collection that field was simply populated with broken-image links as you’re seeing.

In order to prevent the issue from recurring I would for sure recommend protecting that field.

Additionally, because the field has already populated with more-or-less useless little icons, I imagine you’ll want to get rid of them. In order to do this you’ll likely have to install the Batch Field Edit add-on (https://ankiweb.net/shared/info/291119185, code: 291119185). With this installed you can delete the ‘Additional Resources’ field in one sweep, which should clean up that field for you.
