Hi all,
I’ve gotten a few questions on how to use this deck, and I’m hoping to provide a neat and tidy flowchart:
Start the day→Look Brian’s spreadsheet
In Brian’s spreadsheet, you can see the AnKing tags he is including in the WashU tag.
Example:

The AnkiHub_Optional::WashU tag is composed of #AK_Step1_v12::~~~~ tags. Before going through these cards, watch the correlated content. Brian links these next to the tags where resources are applicable. If you are using an unofficial resource, you need to find the video in the drive–slightly more legwork but its free.
Example:

Click on the video, watch it, and the unsuspend the relevant cards. In the case of FirstAid, you can read through the relevant chapter.
Then, you attend/watch lecture. The content in lecture should 80% resemble the content you’ve watched and the cards you unsuspended. Essentially, some subjects will be review or elaborations on stuff you already know. Consider it helical learning.
The remaining 20% not covered in lecture will be covered by me in this deck. For lectures with minimal overlap with AnKing, I will be making those cards from start to finish of lecture. That said– some things are so basic I will not make cards on them. Some things I think are low-yield and I will not make cards on them. This is a trade-off. I don’t want to drown you or me in cards, but by not making cards on literally everything, inevitably you will see something from lecture on an exam that I didn’t cover. That’s an inherent risk. If you want to make your own cards and that’s intimidating you, I’ll teach you. Feel free to reach out.
Please note: It’s to my advantage to make as few cards as I need to, so if I catch cards in the AnKing deck that Brian does not recommend unsuspending, I will make suggestions to him to include those cards. My studying will be the same, more or less, as your studying. This keeps my deck in line with the missing content from AnKing reliably–you don’t have to worry that I’m not including content from lecture because I found AnKing content that you don’t know how to find.
By unsuspending cards as advised by Brian and doing my deck, I’m hoping we can reduce a lot of the logistical load of studying. If something wigs you out or you have recommendations for changes, please let me know.
Thanks,
-Gabe
