It seems slightly one-sided that this feature was added without awareness that some people might not want a big purple icon permanently visible when reviewing their cards. It’s been 17 days since the last support ticket. Any update on this yet? Thanks.

There aren’t any concrete updates to report as yet, unfortunately, other than that the request/s have been received, and noted, and that they have been communicated up to developers.
